On January 15, 2016, Newcity named Writers Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam in the #1 slot on their list of “Players 2016: The Fifty People Who Really Perform for Chicago.”
“The coming year promises to be a monumental one for Michael Halberstam. Writers Theatre will be moving out of the cozy backroom at Books on Vernon and into a state-of-the-art facility designed by Studio Gang just down the street in Glencoe.”
The list also includes Writers Theatre’s Artistic Assistant Tyrone Phillips, saying:
“It is [his] relentless drive that has allowed him to carve out a space in Chicago theater as not only one of the most commanding young actors but a respected artistic director as well.”
