WordPlay Gala

The 2023 WordPlay Gala took place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. Every WordPlay Gala supports the core values of the Writers Theatre mission. The money raised from this evening typically accounts for 25% of our annual fundraising goal, and these funds are critical to sustaining our programming and operations.  

That evening, Writers Theatre Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma presented longtime and avid WT supporters, Thomas Hodges and Christopher Knight with the 2023 Spirit of Writers Theatre Award. 

Thank you to our incredible Co-Chairs Nicole Elipas Doherty, Sonia Smith-Evans and everyone who helped make the event such a success!
