Tamanna Akram

Joining Writers Theatre as Advancement Coordinator was the next logical step for Tamanna after she graduated from Lawrence University in June 2018. A theatre and government major, Tamanna has had both academic and experiential background in development, fundraising, theatre production and non-profit work. In her time in college, Tamanna's love for theatre and community-based work extended beyond regular classwork. She designed several courses in understanding nonprofit management and put her learning to practice through various leadership positions and by interning at World Sport Chicago, Innovation Pavilion and University of Colorado's Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship. Most excitingly, she has traveled to Sierra Leone and Jamaica to teach theatre and has interned with The Broadway League at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton, Wisconsin.
