A Day in the Life of a WT Camper!

8:45am – Arrival and Welcome Activity

Campers arrive with their parents or caregivers and are checked in by WT Staff and Teaching Artists. There is a coloring, writing, or craft activity for campers to do while everyone arrives.

9:10am – Name Games and Theatre Warmups

We introduce ourselves to one another, play a name game, and warm up our three actor tools: body, voice, and imagination.

9:45am – Theatre Block One: Introduction

WT Teaching Artists introduce campers to the topic or techniques we’ll explore for the day through games and theatre exercises.

10:30am – Morning Snack Break

Campers take a snack and restroom break between activities.

10:45AM – Theatre Block Two: Creating

Campers continue to explore the topic of the day and start to create their own theatrical work. We work as an ensemble or in small groups to create something new!

11:30am – Lunch Break

We take a break for lunch, which campers bring from home. If it’s nice out we’ll go to the park next door for some time outside!

12:20pm – Backstage Tour

WT Staff takes campers on an exclusive backstage tour through the whole theatre! Campers learn about different jobs in the theatre and see behind-the-scenes.

12:50pm – Theatre Block Three: Building

Campers continue building on what they started to create in the morning. We often introduce an additional design element here like costumes, sound, puppets, and more, giving campers the opportunity to create both on and offstage!

1:50pm – Afternoon Snack Break

Campers take a snack and restroom break between activities.

2:00pm – Theatre Block Four: Rehearsing and Sharing

Campers rehearse their scenes, stories, or other theatrical work they’ve been doing throughout the day then share it out with one another.

2:45pm – Reflection and Clean Up

We tidy up our space from the day and celebrate all we’ve created!

3:00pm – Check Out and Goodbye

Parents and caregivers sign out their campers and we say goodbye until next time!
