Katie is thrilled to be joining the Writers team. She received her BM in Vocal Performance from University of Iowa, and her MM in Vocal performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. A native of Kansas City, Katie is a recent Chicago transplant. She has been active in the classical music community, singing with various chorales and opera companies. Her most recent roles include Rosina in Petite Opera Company’s Barber of Seville, and Minnie Belle in Chicago Folks Operetta’s production of Johnny Johnson. In addition to her vocal endeavors, she runs Janus Concert Series, a crossover music company dedicated to re-examining established traditions in opera and musical theater and bridging the gap between them.
