ACTIVATE workshops are an add-on opportunity for our Student Matinee Series utilizing Writers Theatre’s signature arts-integrated approach to curriculum development.
What is ACTIVATE?
- This wraparound residency is comprised of two workshops that take place in your classroom, with one session before and one after students attend the performance.
- Each workshop is designed to be one class period, about 45-60 minutes.
- ACTIVATE is taught by a member of Writers Theatre’s professional teaching artist cohort.
ACTIVATE offers opportunities for students and teachers to:
- Prepare for and extend their experience at the theatre through participatory workshops.
- Engage in drama-based pedagogical methods including on-your-feet, games, and play-focused activities and exercises to investigate, inquire deeper into and explore the text, characters, and themes of the production.
- Deepen student learning through exclusive access to WT teaching artists in the classroom.
