Laya Lee Tate is a strategic communications and media professional with more than 5 years of experience across nonprofit arts, film and community-driven organizations. Born and raised in Chicago, Laya is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She is passionate about acting as a conduit between artists and audiences, specializing in building unique user journeys via web and employing creative narrative strategy that centers powerful stories that connect with and inspire audiences.
Outside of marketing, Laya is a writer, designer, DJ and music blogger. In 2024, she was awarded the Emerging Critics Grant from Rotten Tomatoes and the Chicago Film Critics Association, was selected as an OTV Fellow for their cohort of Intersectional Global Storytellers and was a winner in OTV's 2024 Pitch, Please! pitch competition. Her work has been presented in Chicago and Berlin.
