At Writers Theatre: A Phoenix Too Frequent, Booth, Dear Liar, The Father
Jim Guy has been designing and building props and dressing sets professionally since he joined the resident company of Cleveland Play House more than 20 years ago. Since then his work has been seen on and off Broadway and in theaters across the country. He detoured into the academic world for seven years, running the Master in Fine Arts program in Theatrical Properties Management and Design at the University of Illinois at Champaign Urbana. Jim returned to the true faith of professional theater three years ago when he became Prop Dept. Manager for Milwaukee Repertory Theater, where he and his crew prop 16 shows in a 10-month season. In addition to his theatrical work, Mr. Guy continues to teach and freelance - doing props, set dresing and special effects for opera, film, industrial and commercial video and print. He began to work with Writers Theatre and Mr. Halberstam in the mid-1990s, and is pleased to continue that association this season.
