Greg Vinkler
At Writers Theatre: The Uneasy Chair
Vinkler has previously worked with Michael Halberstam on A Man For All Seasons (as Thomas More) at Peninsula Players Theatre. Greg has worked extensively in Chicago area theatre, most notably at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where he has happily trod the boards in 26 productions, including the Duke in Measure For Measure and Falstaff in The Merry Wives Of Windsor. He is the recipient of three Joseph Jefferson Awards for the title role in King Lear, Polonius in Hamlet, and Malvolio in Twelfth Night (Chicago Shakespeare Theater); two Artisan Awards for the Other Men in Later Life (Northlight Theatre) and Angelo in Measure For Measure (Chicago Shakespeare Theater); and an After Dark Award for a season including Stephano in The Tempest, Jacques in As You Like It (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), and the one-man St. Nicholas (Gee Kay Productions). He has also been seen in The Moliere Comedies (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), The Beard Of Avon, The Rose Tattoo (The Goodman Theatre), One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (Steppenwolf Theatre Company), Jest A Second (Victory Gardens Theater), Dirty Blonde (Apple Tree Theatre), The Woman In Black (Bloodcurdling Productions), 84, Charing Cross Road, Angel Street (Northlight Theatre) and Pantomime (Court Theatre). Nationally, he has performed at Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Michigan's Boarshead Professional Theatre, and Pittsburgh Public Theater; internationally at London's Barbican Centre, Vienna's English Theatre, and The Singapore Repertory Theatre. Greg coaches and teaches at the Audition Studio in Chicago, and serves as artistic director of Peninsula Players Theatre in Door County, Wisconsin, where he acted in Red Herring and The Uneasy Chair, as well as directed Escanaba In Da Moonlight.
