Thank you for signing your young person up for Drop-In Spring Break Camp at Writers Theatre! 

Please read the following information carefully and review it with your camper.

Drop Off 

  • Please plan to arrive in the room between 8:45am and 9:00am. All campers must be accompanied into the building by an adult and signed in. 
  • Camp will take place in our Rehearsal Room, which is just inside the main door of the theatre to the left. Click here for a map.

Pick Up 

  • There will be a brief sharing at the end of the day at 3pm, so plan to stay a few extra minutes to enjoy your children’s creative work.
  • If early, you are welcome to wait in the Atrium lobby. 
  • If someone not listed as a contact is going to pick up your camper, please let us know via email or at check in. Be sure to include their name, relationship to camper, and contact information. Campers are not allowed to leave the theatre unless signed out by an approved adult.

What to Bring 

  • Campers should dress comfortably for movement and wear secure close-toed shoes. 
  • If the weather allows, we will take part of our lunch break at Friends Park next door to the theatre so bring a jacket if needed.
  • Bring a water bottle properly labeled with your camper’s name. 
  • Bring a packed lunch and at least one nut-freeallergy-friendly snack. We will take a few short breaks throughout the day. We have a strict no-sharing policy. A refrigerator and microwave are available if needed. 

Schedule

Here is a refresher of what our campers will be up to each day!

  • Monday: Master the art of storytelling by writing and performing original scenes.
  • Tuesday: Create characters and sharpen your acting skills with a workshop from guest teaching artist Tati Bustamante.
  • Wednesday: Dream up a new world with a trip to Forts: Build Your Own Adventure!
  • Thursday: Get crafty designing and building your own mask. Guest teaching artist Vero Maynez will help you try your hand at performing with it on!
  • Friday: Explore the art of improv in a welcoming, low-stakes environment.

Alondra Rios

Kristin Hammargren

Kristin Hammargren is the Associate Director of Arts Engagement at Writers Theatre. Her work includes programming around mainstage productions, community partnerships, onsite education, theatre for young audience programs and the Show & Tell storytelling series. Kristin originally joined the company as a teaching artist in 2017. Outside of WT, she has worked as an educator with Filament Theatre, Victory Gardens, AdventureStage, the "Cherubs" program at Northwestern, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and Montana Shakespeare in the Schools. For five years she served as the director of Yellowstone TheatreMakers in Bozeman, MT. As a performer, Kristin's credits include work with Steep Theatre, BoHo Theatre, Filament Theatre, Midsomer Flight, Opera Montana, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, Forward Theater, and Door Shakespeare.

Becca Levy

Becca is an educator, theatre artist, and stage manager who facilitates arts programming and theatrical productions that celebrate community, embrace culture, and foster creativity for people of all ages. Outside of Writers Theatre, their professional teaching artistry and educational leadership includes work with Raven Theatre Company, Childsplay Theatre Company, Children’s Museum of Phoenix, and Emerald City Theatre among others. She is a proud Ensemble Member at Strawdog Theatre Company, Certified Yoga Instructor, and Creative Facilitator with Jewish Studio Project. www.beccaglevy.com
