Story Explorers with Writers Theatre (ages 5-8) -- Step inside favorite stories and explore imaginary lands! During movement and drama classes students will learn how to use their bodies and voices to bring stories to life on stage. Through story drama and improvisation, students will practice working together and dive into the art of creative expression. Parents can join explorers on their journey in a "sharing out" of work at the end of the session.
Stories Alive! (ages 8-12) -- Aspiring theatre artists will use improvisation, physical storytelling, and their own creative writing to explore the relationship between the word and the artist. Writers Theatre teaching artists begin each class with a warm-up and continue with verbal, performance and ensemble-based games, weaving creative writing throughout the class to activate the imagination. Currently offered at Glencoe Park District
In the Scene (ages 12-15) -- Like on our professional stages, aspiring theatre artists will work together as a creative ensemble. WT teaching artists will take students through the creative process that focuses on collaboration, performance skills, games for devising new work and original writing. Currently offered at Glencoe Park District
