On October 17, 2016, the Joseph Jefferson Award Committee will recognize Writers Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam with a special award at their annual ceremony.
He is being honored for “outstanding theatrical accomplishments and contributions to Chicagoland theatre for the past 25 years.”
“Halberstam is hardly a stranger to the Jeff Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in Chicago-area theatre. Among other accomplishments, Writers Theatre has received more than 100 Jeff Award nominations and garnered 26 awards, including 11 nominations and two awards for best production. Halberstam himself has received seven nominations: five as a director, one as an actor and one as an adaptor.”
