A rare gathering of Chicago's theater stakeholders respond to the series of talks artist Mike Daisey has convened across the U.S. after select performances of his monologue How Theater Failed America. Working actors and veteran stage managers, directors, designers, and playwrights, come in direct conversation with do-it-yourself producers, print media, and bloggers.

The lively discussion covers local and national cases to illuminate the stakes and strengths in owning your own building, the force of scale in arts dollars distribution, and success stories in exporting ensemble work and producing new voices. Participants include Writers' Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and other representatives from Steppenwolf, The Goodman, Congo Square Theatre, Remy Bumppo, Curious Theatre Branch, Victory Gardens, and numerous individuals.

This program is organized in conjunction with Daisey's performances of If You See Something Say Something at the MCA Stage, October 10-12.
